Week 6
This week I focused more on doing research for my paper. I focused on researching companies that produce long form content to sponsor their products, using the content as advertisement. As I discussed last week, Red Bull is the company that does that the most. Nothing that they do is focused on the energy drink, rather, they focus on showing the lifestyle of their athletes and what they do to promote the brand. Formula One, after being bought by Liberty Media, their branding modernized, and they shifted to producing a lot more content to promote the races. They do not shoot advertisements to then show on tv, instead they shoot short films during the race weekend, plus the Netflix Series Drive to Survive. Another company that I researched was Porsche. They introduced this campaign called “Driven by Dreams” where they share stories of people who followed their dreams and succeeded. They show some of their cars together with the story and try to create the connection between Porsche and being successful.
Regarding production, I’ve been talking to Cary about his documentary and it is slowly coming into shape. We discussed how we could make ChatGPT into its own character since it is pretty much a “person” that answers your questions.
Regarding my mentorship I was not able to meet with Oz last week at Race Service since he cancelled on me last minute. I have made a list of other few people that I can interview.
