Week 8

This week I have been focusing more on the senior thesis production that I have taken up. It has been really busy meeting with the crew and the director to secure locations. We had a hard time securing locations in Playa Vista, and ended up changing locations completely. Furthermore, contacting actors making sure they are all ok to come on set, and that they are taken care of. The shoot is this weekend (March 10-13, 2023) and there will be a lot to take care of on set as the director of the film is also starring in it.

Regarding my paper I have been doing more and more research. I also have attended a live seminar with Gordon Euchler, a director at Deloitte Consulting. In the seminar we discussed all things advertising, and he showed date supporting his ideas. He discussed how advertisements are getting a bad rep, but that is because a lot of companies are producing bad ads. He further explained how storytelling plays the biggest role when producing content, and that people want to feel like they are being a part of something bigger. The brand needs to represent something in their ads. He mostly discussed short form content, but I think that these concepts can be easily applied to long form content.

This week, I will be having another meeting with my mentor to discuss my progress and more ideas for my paper. I will also be reaching out to Gordon Euchler to see if he is willing to discuss more and potentially interview him in the next few weeks.
